Sometimes, the road can be rough even when God is in it. Do you agree with me? At such times, we are likely to doubt if we heard God or not. If God is still with us or not. Have we sinned or not? What is the escape route available?The questions are endless.
Again, the grass always looks greener on the other side. So, Ruth went to a restaurant for a meal and met Ava who was already at the table waiting for her meal. They both had some time to chat while waiting. It was good to catch up with all that's been happening at the workplace. Not long after, Ava's meal was served , piping hot, and she was so pleased . All of a sudden, Ruth began to feel she had made a wrong choice of a meal and would have ordered same as Ava. As she waited, she salivated and kept on looking at how Ava enjoyed the chicken roast and gravy.
Then, her lasagne was served. She got on with her food and continued with the conversation. Then, there was an exclamation. Ava felt awful and was very upset! Guess what? She found a dead cockroach on her plate! She couldn't believe it. She felt sick and called for the waiter immediately! A lot of thoughts started going through Ruth's mind. She didn't have any desire for Ava's meal again. Instead, she focused on finishing up her meal as she empathised with Ava.
A few minutes before, she wanted Ava's meal and disliked hers. Now, the story is different, and she came to appreciate what she had. She wondered how many times she had looked down on what she had and felt others were better. It wasn't a funny situation for Ava, but God used that to teach Ruth a lesson. The grass is not always greener on the other side.
